Here is the ETF:CORN chart. Even a balanced Corn market like this that smooths out the contango still has dramatic moves "both ways". Note just last year price rallied 11 cents from mid March to early April and then sold off hard. Then again in July through August/11 once again price rallied 11 cents and then promptly plunged 12 cents in September which reversed more than the entire two month rally and in 1/2 the time. The point is what goes up like a rocket comes down like a rocket. Nothing new or unusual about present price action. Corn has always been a volatile market with dramatic moves 'both ways'. It will always find a reason to rally and then plunge. Lots of reasons choose from. Nothing new about this rally. Lots of examples of moves like this in Corn and always will be.
