For the week of the 23-30th expect temperatures to be above average except for average temperatures over Texas, most of Colorado and the desert southwest (due to monsoonal moisture) and average to below average over the west coast coastal-areas due to onshore flow from the Pacific. Temperatures will be well above average in the SE.
This week features a trough digging down the west coast and a strengthening ridge over the Central US. By mid-week a cool front will drop north from eastern Canada and will bring some cooling and precipitation to the NE but it will stall on a curve between Chicago and northern Virginia by the end of the week. Over the SE, a continuous flow of tropical air from the south side of the Bermuda High will keep conditions muggy with frequent pop-up thunderstorms. South TX should dry out after having just had a week of very high rainfall amounts.
Conditions in the Gulf of Mexico are somewhat favorable for the development of tropical disturbances and the area bears watching.
NG injections to be reported next Thursday will again be below the 5 year average.
