Germany's Merkel 'optimistic' euro can be saved (by MarketWatch)
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday said she is "optimistic" the euro can be saved, but that more work must be done. "The project has not yet been constructed in a way that we can be certain everything will work well. That means we have to keep working. But I am optimistic that we will succeed," Merkel said in an interview posted on the website of her party, the Christian Democratic Union, news reports said.
