I agree w/ your observation about metals lagging, but, if we are seeing a "normalization" of markets because of prolonged low % rates and low inflation then it starts to make sense that silver and gold would start acting like commodities again and not asset class markets. Here are my ratios which show asset class markets -- markets that have a yield or dividend holding up well relative to markets that don't pay:
