Hoping for wheat to trade up into the green zone on this chart in the coming days, because i'm long wheat with a July 850 Call. The exceptional drought across the plains has not begun to mitigate yet. My educated guess is, and logic dictates, that this winters crop should be toast, and so that is my rationale for being long. If you would take a gander at the US Drought Monitor map and consider the size, severity and longevity of the drought, you will realize just how god awfully bad it really is, but you would be especially conscious of it if you actually live in the drought zone and you experience it first hand. I live in the drought zone and can testify that it is really getting to be a serious situation. Was reading on the interwebs the other day that climatologists are starting to fear another dust bowl scenario that could be even worse than 1930's.
