Re: Understand Your Risk Tolerance ROTFLMAOSOB

That video really hit the nail on the head and had me holding my stomach laughing. Made a very good point.

Yes going with the flow has always worked. BUTTTTTTTTTTTT most traders want to be heroes and "Pick the Bottom" "OR" Pick the Top." As human beings we just can't help ourselves it seems. Look how many posters here were buying Nat Gas all the way down to its lows month after month. And then the ones that still had money left kept picking the bottom time after time with Nat Gas chopping sideways as it built a base and went basically nowhere and stopped them out time after time. Lots of markets were rallying steadily to go long and selling off steadily to go short with, but that wasn't challenging enough and lacked hero status. Here is a quote from one analyst and site owner called Jason Leavitt that has always made sense:

"I don’t get it. Why guess what’s going to happen in the future? Why not just see what’s happening and go with the flow?
Within an uptrend, I’m either long or on the sidelines. Within a downtrend, I’m either short or on the sidelines. I don’t trade opposite the prevailing trend. When the market makes a major turn, I miss the beginning, but oh well. I’d rather miss the beginning "once" than incorrectly guess when the turn will come "numerous" times."
