Mother market always provides a timely answer.

I was recently at a conference and when introduced as a futures and foreign exchange guy the stock guy who was running the show asked me right away if I was a gloom-and-doomer like all the other commodity people who always think stocks are going to crash and gold is going to $5000.

I responded that "no I'm an optimist and shorting stocks for the most part is a bet against human advancement". I did laugh though because there was so much truth in what he said about people who follow commodities.
