In '73 the rumor was the Russians bought futures and then bot all the grain...resulting in massive price runs.

The rumor then says the Russians sold out of the futures and took possession of the crop at no cost. net.

Farmers in US could easily pull the same type ploy. That is, an end around. The world would be brought to its knees. Everyone.
