Re: I swear...
Sometimes the bear gets you and sometimes you get the bear.
The guys at the shop filled coolant system and pressure tested the coolant system...held pressure. I did the same thing and it wouldn't hold pressure. They drove it...no leaks. Are you kidding me??? Nothing. So they filled her up and sent me home. I drove it today...worked great. Well what the hell...I asked them when I picked the truck up. You could have an air bubble in the block. Oh...bullchit! I had a slow leak in the truck and couldn't find it for over a year. Then a couple of months ago I found a small leak in the thermostat housing and I replaced the thermostat. As I think back...that's when the bad trouble started. When I changed the thermo...I must have not filled the thing up right and created an air pocket high up in the block/heads/intake...something. I noticed after I replaced the thermo that she would get hot and puke water out the radiator...typical of steam pressure. Air in the block...motor gets hot makes steam...pukes.
Who the hell knew there was some way other than filling the radiator with coolant than...filling the fricking radiator full of coolant?
Oh well...I get to not pay them to replace head gasket or head or worse...breaks my heart to keep that money. :-)
