I don't know about that ... My maternal grandfather always used to say .. Call the elevator and have them sound out the sheller when you need money.

Of course that's when corn was harvested on the cob .. stored in corn cribs .. and ground (cob 'n all) for livestock.

I kid you not ... He always seemed to sell at, or about, the year's high. Always needed cash at the right time.
