Something I found out about online banking...you'd think it was an instantaneous transaction...not...the bank gets your order to pay someone and then sends out a paper check....takes three days, at least.

I found that out, much to my dismay, several years back. They may have changed(one would hope so, anyway) and some banks may be different but that's the way mine does/did it.
