I have bullets and some metal, but I think heirloom seeds are better. And the knowledge to get more. You can carry a ton of seeds that are small and weigh almost nothing and would be worth far more than gold or bullets if everything goes South like some of the Doomers are predicting. I suggest everybody save tomato seeds because they are a little harder to save than most and it;s good training. I can't convince anyone that it's a good skill to have, though. Everyone I know buys their plants from the plant place every year and think I'm a nutcase (well, they are right about that, I suppose). My heirloom cherry tomatoes are the best....year after year. My Thai hot peppers are pretty good, too. Pole beans, green peppers, etc. are never anything special as far as variety for me.
