I could see things getting bad without electricity but killing off 90% of Americans...that seems like a lot of deaths just because there's no electricity. How did the ancestors make it without electricity all those years prior to its arrival. My old man said they didn't get electricity on the farm until he was about 10 making that about 1940. I remember going to schools that had no air conditioning.
Not being able to freeze food would be a pain but peeps managed to cure meat for longer term storage before the advent of electricity.
I'd hat to have to do without electricity but I don't think it would kill me.
