yes, but...the fed can not do anything about the local stuff...sales taxes, state income taxes, property taxes, etc.

That's something that can only be addressed by the local folk, much in the way we Tennesseans stopped the a-holes from implementing a state income tax. Much to my disappointment, we did it sans the weaponry. A much slower process but less bloody. I guess their way was better...slower...but we didn't have to clean up the blood, guts, and body parts.

I don't think they have raised taxes since. They did do a tax shift...needed more road money and needed to raise the gas tax but in an attempt to mollify the hoards they reduced the sales tax an equal amount. We got our state boys on a tight leash.

The local peeps and their never ending propensity for raising property taxes is another matter.
