Ever consider that, historically, there were far fewer drug related problems, such as drug related robberies, murders, and death by overdose, when all drugs were totally legal, than since they became illegal? Ma could walk into the general store, pick up her opiates (good ol' bottle of laudanum comes to mind) .... walk into any pharmacy and come out with high purity cocaine, and the like .... But, FDR's wife had a hardon (Mike Obimbo wasn't the first) for drugs .... So, the Democrat Party made darned close to everything illegal.
