Yeah I know what you mean...I tend to blast away at them also...we have rattle snakes in our area...they look similar...except they have the triangle head...a rattler that small wouldn't have any rattles on it yet...so...I would have blast away at it and not give it a second though...you don't want a baby or any rattler biting you.
