The Woman's, cousin's, daughter...I don't know what you call a relative like that...first cousin once removed according to the net???

Well, anyway, this girl got breast cancer about 8 or 9 years ago. A particularly vicious kind...she has been fighting the good fight for that long. She started with the traditional chemo and all that...didn't work...moved on up the chain of "new" meds and then to the experimentals. She managed to beat it down up until a month and a half ago when it came back with a vengeance.

So they hit her with the newest of the new experimental as a last ditch effort. The side effects so hurtful she has made the decision to discontinue and let nature take its course. Five to six months and a guaranteed pretty horrible death and she's gone. This is the fate she faces.

She, 38, and her husband have a 10 year old boy. They have always been open with the kid according to his age ability to understand...they will wait until after christmas to tell him. Wow.

Having to deal with two people close to me who are having to deal with this terrible disease has sure brought it home.
