At the instruction of old professor friend, I cut the head off that bobcat I posted about finding in the ditch in front of the house...roadkill. After I cut the head off I put it on a widow screen on the ground and covered it with a bucket. The maggots came, they ate. I cleaned the fur off and picked bone fragments and teeth out of the rotten muck. Then I put all the pieces parts in a Hydrogen peroxide bath to whiten the bones.

Here are the results. Bob took a hit to the right side of his head. it shattered the right side of his skull and where the backbone connected to the skull...it broke a round piece of the skull off. That piece was attached to the backbone...totally separated from the skull. That's the piece lying directly behind the biggest part of the skull with a round hole that the backbone attached to. A vicious blow that meant instant death to Bob, I'm sure.

Next...glue Bob back together again.
