TN tornado...

About 12.30am The Woman wakes me up...the tornado sirens are going off. I get up, turn on the tube to see what's up. Saw about a minute and then poof...we're in the dark. Wow...and the tornado was still 30 miles away. I thought...that can't be good. Supposed tornado hits Nashville and my electricity goes out.

We took shelter, such that it was...it was a nasty blow and when it went past here it was three miles away from us....and it was still bad here.

Electricity comes back on after 6 hours. We have family without, still. Likely it will be days till restoration in areas.

I was out in the backyard yesterday...picking up a small amount of degree. Insulation, some small splintered tree parts, a green piece of plastic that looked like maybe it was a piece of an awning from a gas station. The neighbors had a single size mattress in their driveway.

Tornado did a pretty good job of doing what it is they do.

One neph was missed by less than a mile. He got his family in the basement and went to the basement door to look out. He said he heard it first, then saw it as the lightning lit it up. He said the noise was like nothing he has ever heard and doesn't care to hear again.

Death toll so far...24. Most of those from a city 70 miles away!

Tore up nashville and surrounding pretty good.

Close as I ever wish to be.
