I crush my diet Dr. Pepper cans...it takes me 3 years or more before I haul off 130 or so pounds of crushed Al cans. I'm not into recycling, I crush them so my trash can doesn't fill up so fast with Al cans. One of those big black contractor clean up bags holds about 20 pounds of cans. This last time I only had 3 bags but since they tore down the barns behind the house I have no good place to store more than that.

So I call the scrap yard to see what they're giving for Al cans. I think it was like 20 cents a pound. 12 bucks...it'd take 4 dollars in gas to get me across town to the scrap yard and back.

I just put them in the back of the truck and took them three miles to the dump collection center...threw them in the AL recycle dumpster.

Bummer...
