Black powder is a good way to go. Hunting season opens sooner for bow and black powder. Black powder rifles, these days, are being made that are very accurate for pretty far out shooting if you need such a thing.

I want an old civil war style cannon. Two to five inch bore...1/2 pound of powder...4 to 10 pounds of shot. With low pressure black powder you can make a tube out of just about any old pipe. A couple of trailer wheels and you can pull it into the field for mass deer killing shots. HAHAHA!
