Did you know that it is against federal law to have any part of a hawk in your possession?
no bones, feathers, anything...
if you find a hawk feather, you must leave it to rot where it sits.
This law makes sure that nobody can harvest a hawk and make up a story.
It also makes criminals of the average Joe who picks up such a piece.
A hawk came to visit on my daughter's birthday, for all to see, and left a feather.
nah....it was not saved....
