I pulled up my monthly chart and looked for cyclical patterns. They are not easy to see, but I noticed some dips bottoming in the years 1976, 1985, 1993, 2001, 2008, 2015. This means we are looking at a cycle of 7-9 years length (average 8), with the last low being at the end of 2015

This bit of information is not accurate enough to give me a clue (as a leveraged futures trader) about when to buy gold.

IMHO opinion, the current political and geopolitical situation is speeding up the demise of the Dollar as the world’s reserve currency. The influence of the BRICS nations has been growing. Sooner or later, other countries will be conducting their international commerce using other currencies, rather than the Dollar.

IMHO, this should make the Dollar lose value, which should also make GC more valuable. But this process could take years.
