Iran and Saudi Arabia have established diplomatic relations. For several years, these two countries have been at odds with each other, since they supported opposing sides in conflicts in Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

This may not mean much for us, but IMHO the very significant detail of this deal is that it was brokered by China. China has become a major power in geopolitical matters
