LNG and FSRU/Trades

Hi Trades,
Your post on this turned up some interesting stuff ...

Link to a short but really interesting article.

The FSRU stuff, I had not run across before, but sure makes a lot of sense !!!

This is what GLNG Golar NG LTD. is moving into. I think it is really a great approach.

Think about the recent gas pipe line disruption from Egypt to Israel/Jordan. If an appropriate interface were in place it likely would not take long to bring in an FSRU ship and start pumping NG ashore. Just a crazy thought. Would be sort of like a world wide insurance policy for pipe line disruptions or temporary shortages. What do you do with the ship(s) during periods of no "broken pipelines" !!???

Fun for thought, but that first link seems to really hit the nail on the head. Many do not want a "local LNG" plant in their back yard. But a "plumbing" connection into an existing NG pipeline likely would not raise many objections.

Any way, fun to think about !!

Lee
