I gave up bitching about finishing carpenters wide cracks and multiple nail holes that looked like it was shot with a shotgun. I just got very good and fast with a caulking gun and hole filler and everyone was happy in the end. Just no escape from it. When I was lucky I used some guy that didn't have a nail gun and only needed a few nails and actually fitted the wood trim together. Like the good old days when trim was 'installed' with the intent it didn't need much of anything other than a pinch of filler before painting. Anyone with a chop saw and nail gun today is called a finishing carpenter. A painter's nightmare.
