The computers will look at the "marketplace" ... that is, see your stop. What they choose to do, who knows. If you are a savvy trader they want to kill, then they will HFT and hit you.
Generally these days, the liquidity is good so you don't get hit as hard as before.
Watch out for markets that only allow "Stop Limits". Like NGas. You could think you are stopped out when you are not filled because of your choice of a limit.
But, generally, the markets are more liquid and you need to worry more about your brokerage house cleaning you out with fraud.
