used to be NY Comex gold. Then there was Chicago gold which was GD, I think. Then there was Mid Am gold...and I forget what that quote symbol was.

and then, each data provider, Bunker Ramo, etc. had their own symbols...

But, as an aside, the best commodity office retail boards were the ones that went "clack" as they changed prices. Sometimes it would sound like nonstop popcorn..... when the action was fast...they broke all of the time though...not like terminals today.

j/k about buying gc. normally, one should fade such "news" as H posted. H has been around awhile and put that news up for a reason.
