trading GC is not 'selling gold' .. it's moving paper ..

Discounts are usually applied by the buyer and should cover his costs and a decent profit.
These discounts are inevitable, as the "London fix" price applies only for gold transactions at the LME!
(Your gold buyer provides a service and also needs to make a living.)
