A few years ago I bought some silver bullion and gave it to the youngsters in our family as a Christmas socking stuffer.
I made no gain on it giving it away. 100% loss. If they kept it they have a somewhat smaller gain then if they had sold it back then.
All I know about silver is it will go up or down sooner or later.
