interesting.

Things I didn't grow up with or seeing except in an East Indian barber shop in Singapore.

We all got conditioned with Wilkinsons (UK), then later the US brand names like Gillette, Barbasol.

No one used a str8 razor. Single blade, yes and U could use the other side too.
