went to a barber in a small town near here for a straight razor shave. Turns out the law will not allow for straight razor use anymore because of supposed un-sterile conditions between customer shaves.

Have to use double edged blades.

An interesting and somewhat pleasant experience none the less.

Interesting shaving process you describe but I believe I'll stick with my high tech 200 blade razors. Ha!

If your the kind of person that fills the sink full of hot water to clean the blades between strokes...squirt a couple of shots of lotion, preferably with aloe in it, into the water. This makes for an added bit of slickness between blade and face.
