Re: tariffs and the market...
What does the U.S. sell the PRC? Soybeans? That's a fungible commodity. If they buy from other markets, that simply forces the customers of that nation's beans to look elsewhere. It isn't as if the PRC has placed some economic sanction(s) that other nations will be forced to follow and no one will buy U.S. agricultural products.
And, it ain't just the PRC ... look at the EU .... Those bastids have tariffs, on many U.S. goods, that make the PRC's tariffs look tame. Time to turn the battle to Europe .... bring those bastids to their moslem loving knees.
Look at the WTO and what are considered "Developing Nations". Hayull, that "list" hasn't been updated for decades.
As Trump told the EU, close to two years ago when they started to squeal .... That the U.S. was all in for NO tariffs .... It's just that they'd have to drop the tariffs charged against U.S. goods .... the squealing and squawking wouldn't cease.
When the Reagan type "conservatives" squeal about "Free Trade" .... listen forkers .... Free Trade means that it's free on all sides ... Not simply the U.S.
Time for Milwaukee Tools to be made in the U.S., once again ... As opposed to the PRC ... and it's ROC owners. "American Made" indeed!
