Yer best choice for SHTF is a 2,000 inverter. Yeah, you can install a whole house generator, but, you won't have any fuel after 2-3 weeks. Save yourself some cash and buy small with alot of fuel. You can run one thing at a time...but you would be just trying to make it out to the other side.

The bare minimum is an inverter for your car. Plugs into the cig lighter...but will charge your phones (must start car once in awhile) etc.. Don't make you a king, but at least you got something. Nobody seems to have these. Nifty little gizmos.

you can easily make a stove/burner thing that burns ttwigs, etc.. see youtube.

Best to have food first.

any razor blade can be used for a month or 2, just is not as pleasant a shave...lol.
