Actually, Wayne, it's much worse than that. It was close to four weeks ago, when CDC issued new "guidance". Said guidance listed that if Covid-19 could even be "expected", the death certificate's cause of death should be marked as "Covid-19".

And, to make it even more ridiculous, the deceased did not even have to be tested to determine if they were even infected with the virus. Nope, just ASSUME it to be caused by that particular virus. That's why so many death certificates, from February and early March are being backdated and Covid-19 has replaced the earlier Cause of Death.

Then, consider the economic incentives to hospitals .... 1) If the deceased was uninsured, the government would step in and pay the full amount of the patient's "care. 2) Medicare has a $3500 kicker. DRG (diagnostic review guide) sets specific Medicare payments for all medical procedures, with variance only due by region. On top of what DRG would pay for the treatments the patient received ... if Covid-19 is on the death certificate ... DRG PLUS $3500.00. And, remember, no need to have even tested the patient, live or post mortem. The AMA sent out specific guidelines and instructions as to how to simply fill in Covid-19. And, so did CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Consider that almost every hospital's census (number of filled v empty beds) has DRASTICALLY dropped. And, they've been laying off Registered Nurses as if there were no tomorrow .... Those hospitals need every single extra penny that they can get .... Over half of the rooms empty. Chemo treatments being delayed. Limb surgeries are non-essential ...
