No disrespect, but there's always someone who likes to sell their theories. They can dress things up quite nicely.

A long while ago I asked my old mentor and a few successful traders about the COT data and they all said the do not look at them nor did they have any interest about the subject. They simply said the really do not need it. I've worked closely with them all and I've never seen anything about it.

However, if one can use it successfully, one cannot argue with facts, simply saying.
