I don't know why they would do it...control maybe? I really hate all these updates they push on you...I try my darnedest to not upgrade or update...sometimes going on months on end getting that damn update notice that pops up...Then I get up in the morning and see where my puter has rebooted. You would think by now someone would come up and challenge Msoft and Apple...and come out with a conservative operating system, I know there is Linux, but that never seemed to get very popular. I've been using the Brave browser and it seems to be pretty good at keeping all the trackers and ads in check, I try and not update that as well.
