This week brings a severe heatwave over the central US fron Tx to N Dakota, spreading east thru the week and reaching maximum intensity over the large east coast centers by the weekend. Temperatures will range from 10-20F above normal and with the humidity, widespread heat index readings over 100F with local readings over 115F are expected,
Severe weather is likely over NY, northern OH and eastern MI beginning this eve and for the next 2 days as the hot air expands E and forms a front thru these states. A tropical storm will develop later today or tomorrow over the tropical atlantic just E of FL but it is not expected at this point to enter the Gulf of Mexico. Florida and the SE seaboard are at risk for tropical storm conditions later in the week.
