Avoid 'loose talk' on euro breakup: Geithner (by William L. Watts)
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Friday said he urged European policy makers to avoid "loose talk" about a breakup of the euro and said the United States and Europe must work closely to overcome economic challenges, Reuters reported. News reports said Geithner also urged policy makers to leverage the region's 440 billion euro ($607 billion) European Financial Stability Facility to provide more firepower in the effort to contain the debt crisis. Geithner attended a meeting of euro-zone finance ministers in Wroclaw, Poland.
