I don't recall Eddie saying this but technically you shouldn't use any moving average combination "IF" they are trading sideways.(see on that chart I posted the previous day) That is the one major issue with moving averages. Not very helpful when trading sideways in any time frame. You always want them moving clearly up or clearly down to use a trading system. Like today has been doing works well. Even with Daily charts the 20ema or 22ema (not a visible difference) tends to act as support and resistance and is the main reason I use it on Daily charts. Some band indicators use the 20ema as well and Bollinger Bands use the 20sma as its centre line to get trade signals with. And 20 trading days is actually 28 calender days which is a natural cycle in most everything in life. Including 13 of them in one year. Even the birth cycle of many species is 28 calender days. So it is relevant in many ways and not surprising that it shows up in charts in all time frames in most everything.
