I'm kind of a .243 nut, due to its flat trajectory.

Even an old fart, such as I, with fixed iron sights can hold a ten shot group the size of a nickel at a hunnert yards.

I've a Weatherby bolt action (.243) and that old Ruger single shot (nice) a .243, as well.

I've a scope on the Weatherby and only iron on the Ruger.

Don't need a lot of fire power when you have some distance accuracy.

Shotgun with slugs and 00 (double ought) buck .... seems, to me, the way to go.
