Yes. Did not uninstall IE. Just downloaded Firefox and ALWAYS click on that icon. Never click on a popup again asking if you want to make IE your default browser (it likes to ask every now and again). IE will try to eat your hard drive just like you are experiencing.

Also, make sure, if you have a laptop, that you keep the vents on the bottom open to air as well as the exit vent on the side.
