be aware that I am not a tech. I am only telling you what worked for me.

If your computer stops working and won't boot up, you may be able to get your files with something I bought on the web, I forget what it's called (maybe Knoppix???), but anyway it runs Linux and bypasses IE and allows you, if you're lucky, to get your files. You use a USB port as I remember. It came on a flash drive thingie. Be careful it's not a virus or you'll just transfer it over when you record your files maybe.....

the reason I mention the heat fan is that I noticed the computer started to overheat and cut off alot towards the end before I figured out that FireFox idea.

Once I had to replace the hard drive because I let the situation go too far with IE.
