When I lived in Westminster - Huntington Beach area of OC (Orange County, LA),

there was a regular panhandler at a gas station on the corner of Beach Blvd and Westminster Ave.

I used to give him a buck whenever I filled up. One day a local biker cop told me to stop giving him money as he probably made more than I did.

I asked the officer... like how much does he make? He replied: "Well he files taxes every yr as a registered panhandler in Huntington Beach,

and he made over 85K last yr.. and that's just what he declared on paper!"

Needless to say... I stopped !
