The mantra of immigrants , poor or black people and nonworkers (disabled seniors fall into that category and make the largest percentage of that demographic) causing problems is old and tired. Although you do have the idea that the very rich old money pays the GOP to keep things that way so that they don`t pay their fair share either.

Many red states refused to add medicaid expansion, Setup exchanges, And a republican senate failed to fund the risk corridor for the insurances companies as agreed to for their participation in the exchanges. This caused many insurers to pull out which increased the risk for the remaining. The remaining insurers with increased risk now had to apply their own risk managment by raising premiums and deductibles. The insurers that pulled out is why there are less choices. Its the republicans that sabotaged the ACA by deliberately limiting 50 state participation and congressional funding. Its clear they do not care about health of Americans, But are perpetuating class warfare. Because they would fix what they broke and take credit because the average voter is still blaiming the previous adminstration and are not aware the republicans poked the hole in the bucket....They are not even interested in that political score
