Actually, growing up, in the Midwest (Iowa) and having livestock chores, before breakfast and the 6:45 am school bus ... it doesn't get nearly as cold here as in the Midwest. When this area (Northeast Nohio) has one of its rare days of 0 Fahrenheit ... it's 20 below .. or COLDER, in Iowa.

Out of my decade and a half, in Asia .. for twelve years, we kept our office on Saipan (US soil, US laws, etc.) ... we've discussed the joys of that rock ... beautiful little 50 square miles ...

You are right, winters here are no Saipan. But, they ain't the prairies of the Midwest. Only real problem, for me, is ... due to Erie being the shallowest of all of the Great Lakes, this area seems to be overcast ... ALL the time, all winter long.

My wife wants to move to the Carolinas .. I told her to "Go ahead". Right now, she's taking three months to visit old friends and family in Korea and The Japans. She may go visit Saipan ... lots of old friends to see there .. but ever since obammy took over Labor and Immigration ... it's turned into ChinaIland. Can you say "Ni Hao"?
