I have a tenant whose son was popped on his birthday (tags expire on your birthday in Nohio). He's on his way to work, but ... he should've taken the thirty seconds to put a peel and stick over his old peel and stick. He showed the pooleese the sticker, right in his front seat ... and tried to apologize.
Nothing doing .... they towed in the car. His adult son has his CHL ... and had informed the pooleese thingy. He had one of his father's Glocks ... Poeleese towed the car and confiscated the Glock. Daddy goes down to the cop shop and tries to retrieve his firearm. They asked him if he knew the serial number (this guy has an almost photographic memory) ... he rattles it off. The poeleese tell him that wasn't good enough. So, the next day, he goes to the poeleese with his receipt (around four years old). That wasn't good enough.
So, $500.00 in attorney-at-law fees later, he gets back something that he could have just bought (four year old G-4) for less.
This is not an uncommon story ... happens ALL of the time, ALL over the country.
Remember to tell your garbage collector, "Thank you for your service."
