as the old saying goes...a true democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.

The representative republic protects the sheep or the minority from the tyranny of the wolves.

We definitely do not want a true democracy.

The lifetime representative was not the way this place was set up. Several things have been corrupted that perverted the original plan to make that possible.

Peeps hold within their power the vote that could implement term limits. They do not do this for several reasons...redistricting, thieving whores stealing certain peoples income and doling it out to welfare sluts, whether individuals or corporations, for the welfare slut vote.

This last election in VA and elsewhere proved that all the people have to do is get sick and tired enough of the status quo to vote it out...which they did and should do on a much more regular basis.
