I always run carbon monoxide warning devices as well as smoke alarms. In a pinch, they are great. I only run the older Kero-Sun variety. The Moonlighters produce light as well as heat. The larger DC (Double Clean) KS and ToyoStove heaters are really good if you have enough kerosene. Light and heat, too.
The little 2000W inverter gens (mine is a Yamaha) are excellent. The cheapest good gen is the Champion 1200/1500. They last forever. Lower watts but less gas, too (*not inverter). There's a new Champion Dual fuel 2000W that looks appealing. Propane or gas.
Problem is....bigger the heater the more fuel you need. I like having some fuel and a smaller gen. Don't like having 50 gallons of gas in my garage and a 5000W gas sucker..
