Re: So, what really happened yesterday?

"Remember when the private sector paid better than the public?"

Yes I do. JFK's executive order 10988 allowed for collective bargaining by federal employees. Something even FDR argued against and refused to do, big a liberal as he was. From 10988 forward it started turning to public paying more than private with better, by far, pension plans that we are paying for. There are 2.1 million fed employees, I heard the other day.

I wrote, or tried to, Trump again suggesting he look at rescinding JFK's EO 10988. Of course I further suggested if he rescinded 10988 he should appoint me Czar of Federal Government Employee Firing. I promised him I wold give him a whole new understanding of "you're fired." I would fire em by the boat load on the premise that since 10988 had been rescinded so to had all pension plans and payment plans from 10988 to date. No, no firing rule in there.

Again, no offers. :-)

I did hear that Trump was asking congress to write a law so that the part of the union agreements that forbid firing without unrealistic maneuvers would no longer apply and we could go about firing undesirables without as much cause. I like this idea but I think it would be better to rescind 10988.

I aint President though.
